Kuta Vibes: Sunsets, Sand, and Sea Breezes
Sanur Harbor |
On our fourth day, we moved to Kuta, just a few minutes from the airport. We chose to stay here for convenience, so our trip back wouldn’t be a hassle. After checking in, we explored the area and started canvassing for places to buy pasalubong.
Since our hotel was only a short walk from the beach, we spent the afternoon strolling along Kuta’s windy shoreline—the breeze was refreshing, and the atmosphere felt laid-back and relaxed.

🌊 Island Escape: Nusa Penida
The next highlight of our trip: Nusa Penida. We began our journey in Kuta, hopped on a morning ferry at Sanur Harbor, and braved the bumpy (and let’s be honest—narrow, twisty) roads of the island.

If you're planning to visit, bring patience, energy, and sturdy shoes. It's a workout—but so worth it.
Our tour included some of Nusa Penida’s most iconic stops:
📍 Kelingking Beach
📍 Kelingking Beach
Our first stop was Kelingking, arguably the most famous view on the island. The cliffs here resemble a T-Rex head, and the contrast of the turquoise sea against the dramatic limestone was just jaw-dropping. Photos don’t do it justice.
📍 Broken Beach & Angel’s Billabong
Next up: Broken Beach, a naturally formed rock arch that creates a stunning circular cove. Right beside it is Angel’s Billabong, a crystal-clear tide pool where you can see the ocean rushing in beneath the rocks. It’s a surreal sight—serene but powerful.

📍 Crystal Bay
Our final stop was Crystal Bay, a quieter beach with calm waters and soft sand—perfect for winding down. Some visitors snorkel here, but we were content just sitting by the shore, taking in the views and soaking up the last bit of Nusa Penida magic.
It was a long, tiring day with lots of driving, walking, and climbing, but every spot gave us something different—drama, beauty, and that sense of untouched wonder you don’t often find in more touristy areas.

If you're planning to explore Nusa Penida, pack sunblock, good shoes, and a sense of adventure. You’ll need all three.
🍛 The foodBali’s food was a delightful blend of spice, flavor, and tradition. One of the most memorable dishes we had was spicy curry—rich, fragrant, and served with perfectly cooked rice. The layers of flavor in every bite made it both comforting and exciting.
And no meal felt complete without a cup of Bali coffee. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or a late afternoon break, we found ourselves always reaching for a hot, bold cup. Locally grown and brewed strong, it became a staple throughout our stay.
From Nasi Goreng (fried rice) to Satay skewers and sweet treats like Dadar Gulung (pandan crepes filled with coconut), each dish told its own story. Eating in Bali wasn’t just about satisfying hunger—it was part of the experience.

🏝️ Final Thoughts
Bali gave us everything: peace, adventure, culture, caffeine highs, and stunning views. More than just a vacation, it was an experience that left us connected—to the land, the people, and each other.
