A First-Time Adventure in Thailand: 4 Days in Bangkok
Introduction
After arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport, we headed straight to our hotel, located in the bustling Silom area. This charming boutique hotel was a perfect home base, offering comfort and convenience.
Once we checked in and settled down, we took some time to unpack, relax, and recharge. In the evening, we visited the Patpong Night Market which was located just below our hotel. This vibrant spot is a foodie’s paradise, with stalls offering everything from mango sticky rice to spicy grilled sausages (my favorite, by the way).
Day 2: Grand Temples and Markets
We dedicated our second day to exploring Bangkok’s iconic landmarks. Our day started with a visit to The Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, home to the breathtaking Emerald Buddha. The intricate details of the temples and the grandeur of the palace left us in awe.
Next, we strolled through Wat Pho, famous for its massive Reclining Buddha, and then took a boat ride to the majestic Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn).
Day 3: Culture and Shopping
Our third day began at the Tha Phrachan Pier, a scenic spot to enjoy the riverside atmosphere before heading to the National Museum Bangkok, where we learned about Thailand’s fascinating history and art.
Throughout the day, we marveled at how efficient and affordable Bangkok’s transportation system was. From MRT to BTS to river ferries, getting around was both an adventure and a breeze.
Day 4: Farewell to Thailand
Our last morning was bittersweet. After a leisurely breakfast, we packed up and bid goodbye to Bangkok. By 11:15 AM, we were on our flight back to Manila, already reminiscing about the amazing four days we spent in Thailand.
Final Thoughts
Bangkok exceeded our expectations with its vibrant culture, historic sites, and warm hospitality. Staying in Silom was a fantastic choice, as it offered easy access to both the old and modern sides of the city.
